DARANE CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIELS
A bit about me . . .
I started Darane Cavalier King Charles Spaniels with the goal of breeding healthy, beautiful and typically sweet Cavaliers. My first Cavalier was the wonderful Starwind Magic Moment, “Mr. Darcy”. When I saw him it was love at first sight. And, when he won his first blue ribbon it was the beginning of a new and exciting obsession!

Since the Summer of 2001, when Mr. Darcy came into my life, I have had two important mentors in the Cavalier world. Pam Burkley of Saintbrides Cavaliers and Mandy Mulligan of Nightingale Cavaliers each have helped me accomplish the goals I set for my breeding program. My first girl, Saintbrides Bronwyn or “Lizzie”, came from Pam. Lizzie produced my first litter in February 2007.

My first home bred Champion was out of my first
whole-color litter. The mother was Bryndael The Gay Divorcee, “RedDog”, bred by Brenda Gear. CKCSC-USA Ch Darane Holly Blue was the only girl in the litter. I figured I had better keep Blue and see how she turned out. Blue was slow to mature but eventually became a beautiful show girl. RedDog produced another Champion with Ch Darane Red Sonja, JW. And her granddaughter, Blue’s baby, Ch Darane Billie Jean, also finished. 2013 brought two more Champions to the Darane family, Ch Darane Smooth Criminal and Ch Darane Casablanca at ChewCreek, owned and loved by Trisha DePhillip. In 2015 Ch Darane My Darling Clementine at ChewCreek finished her Cavalier Club and AKC titles and this year Ch Darane Hellboy, JW and his little sister Ch Darane Stardust also gained their crowns.

My dogs are part of the family and live in our home. All are kept up to date on vaccinations and health testing. Visitors are welcome with an appointment and all health papers are available upon request. All of my puppies are registered in both the CKCSC-USA and the AKC. I am a member of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club-USA and am currently sitting on the Board of Directors for the Club.

More information can be found about Cavaliers on the Club website at www.ckcsc.org . I am also a member of the four regional clubs associated with the CKCSC-USA. Those clubs’ websites provide information about local conformation shows, performance matches and fun get-togethers.
